Diversity Innovation Enthusiasm

Opened in Mars 2003 by Matei Caltia, Galeria Posibila was the first private portfolio gallery in Romania and started with a small but very enthusiastic team.
Galeria Posibila is an exciting and dynamic cultural space, open in March 2003 in Bucharest by Matei Caltia, to provide an exciting place to exhibit, to place artworks in domestic and corporate environments.

Dealing both with artists and collectors, trying to make room for new representations of art on the Romanian art scene, the gallery is actively supporting young artists to produce and exhibit their works. Printing catalogues that overview the local visual art scene - as it was in 2003 a catalogue that analyzed for the first time the Romanian art market and resources of what was to be the new art generation - or that focuses on one particular artist (e.g. a five booklets collection), exhibiting contemporary Romanian artists in our country and abroad (at galleries and art fairs) help improve the local awareness on artists and art itself.
Galeria Posibila is running a program of exhibitions and events every two months and 3 to 4 exhibitions in other spaces / cities. Our major purpose is to develop a specific cultural context into which young artists, major projects and events, collectors and art lovers may find the most adequate way to communicate. Promoting art as a social-cultural need we seek to create the medium of establishing art values assumed by everyone

Galeria Posibila is mainly focused on painting and photography exhibitions, but also makes room for video art starting from 2006. The gallery portfolio contains numerous young Romanian artists that are national wide appreciated as well as established ones. Roman Tolici, Nicu Ilfoveanu, Florin Ciulache, Iuliana Vîlsan, Gheorghe Fikl, Vali Chincisan, Gili Mocanu or Anca Benera, are among the best of them. Ștefan Câlția on the other hand has a special place in the gallery portfolio, an important artist for whom the gallery organized many events in collaboration with numerous institutions and museums from our country.

What we really want is to sell art, but it’s our belief that, in order to do so, we have to develop the dialogue between the artwork and the public. We seek to create this medium of establishing art values assumed by everyone.
As so our gallery operates as an attraction for the public and a cultural resource within the local art market.

The Gallery aim to provide cultural diversity and visual identity into a developing art market.

The gallery is also supporting creativity studios for children. 30 children have the chance to communicate with young Romanian artists exhibiting in the gallery, to see his/her works and to develop communication abilities with the coordination of a young psychologist.
